Nazareth Home Receives National Award

Nazareth Home was selected as a Bronze Award winner in the American Healthcare Association National Quality Awards program. The awards program is a part of the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award program designed to recognize businesses and healthcare organizations for performance excellence. The Baldridge Quality Award recognizes ‘role model organizational management systems that ensure quality improvement in the delivery of service, efficient and effective operations and a way of engaging and responding to customers and stakeholders.”
Since the inception of the program with the American Healthcare Association, 1543 applicants have been awarded the Bronze first step honor, 496 were awarded this year in 46 states, 9 in Kentucky.
Administrator, Mary Haynes says, “I appreciate our board and staff, especially Sandra King and those leaders who are champions of our quality improvement processes.” Haynes reports that Nazareth Home has been in pursuit of this recognition now for three years. “We have used all available tools to set our goals and exceed many national benchmarks. At the same time, we have tried to stay close to our stakeholders, listening to their preferences and modifying our practices accordingly.”
Earlier this year, Nazareth applied for and received a Best Practice Award from the Kentucky based consumer advocacy group, Kentucky Initiative for Quality Care.
