Press Release for Facility of the Year

Honors also went to Nazareth Home in Louisville, which was recognized as the 2011-12 Facility of the Year. Facility administrator Mary Haynes and her staff accepted the award. Meade recognized the facility, saying, “Nazareth Home is an excellent facility with a strong tradition and commitment to providing quality care for its residents and a leader in the community when it comes to addressing aging issues. Our long term care profession salutes Mary and the staff for their professionalism and dedication to delivering quality care.”

District Facility of the Year Awards were also presented to long term care facilities that have demonstrated an outstanding level of achievement in the past year. The nominees are judged on strict criteria, including facility and department goals and objectives, quality patient care and goals, the attitudes and enthusiasm of the administrator and staff members, and the facility’s activities and involvement with their local community. Facilities entering the judging must demonstrate a commitment to quality initiatives and also conduct customer satisfaction surveys of its residents and families.
